Description

Enjoy a delicious Cuban Sandwich featuring layers of succulent roast pork, savory ham, melted Swiss cheese, and zesty pickles. This easy recipe is perfect for quick lunches or satisfying dinners that everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf cuban bread or french loaf
  • 1 lb roast pork shredded
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices swiss cheese
  • 3 dill pickles sliced
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard


Instructions

  1. Cut the Cuban bread in half lengthwise and spread yellow mustard evenly on both cut sides.
  2. Layer shredded roast pork, ham slices, Swiss cheese, and sliced pickles on the bottom half of the bread.
  3. Place the top half of the bread over the filling and gently press down.
  4. Heat a large skillet or panini press over medium heat.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and press down with a heavy pan or weighted press if using a skillet.
  6. Cook for about 3 minutes per side until the bread is crispy and golden and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat, cut into smaller pieces if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding some sliced jalapeños or garlic to the sandwich.
Using a panini press can give a more even crisp to the bread compared to a skillet.
Feel free to toast the bread before assembling for added crunch.
