Ingredients

  • 12 tbsp butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 brick cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a bowl.
  3. In a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or a large bowl with an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, scraping the bowl at least once.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in one-third of the flour mixture, followed by one-third of the milk. Repeat the process until all ingredients are combined.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the butter soften at room temperature before mixing.
Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easier blending into the batter.
