- 1 1/2 lbs chicken breast cut into 1 inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
- 3 cups broccoli florets cut into smaller pieces
- 1/2 tablespoon minced ginger root
- 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/3 cup oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce low sodium
- 1/3 cup chicken broth low sodium
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar or honey
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine all Sauce ingredients and whisk until mixed well.
- For more flavor, marinate the cubed chicken in a ziplock bag with the sauce for 30 minutes in the fridge if time allows.
- Heat a stir-fry wok or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of oil.
- Add the broccoli florets to the hot oil and sauté for 4–6 minutes until tender. Remove and set aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the chicken pieces (without sauce) in a single layer. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Let the chicken sear without stirring for 1 minute, then cook, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink. Add the sauce and cook until it coats the chicken, about 7-8 minutes.
- Return the broccoli to the pan and stir until everything is heated through and well coated in the sauce, about 3-5 minutes.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For added depth of flavor, marinate the chicken for longer if you can.
Keep a close eye on the broccoli to avoid overcooking and losing its bright color and crunch.
Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for variety.
