Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dry black beans
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups hot water
  • 3 cups hot chicken broth (can substitute with more water)
  • 1 onion quartered


Instructions

  1. Rinse and inspect the dried beans, discarding any damaged ones. Add the beans to the Instant Pot liner along with salt, broth, water, and onion if desired.
  2. Seal the pressure cooker lid and set it to high pressure for 30 minutes. After cooking, let it naturally release pressure for 20 minutes before performing a quick release.
  3. Carefully remove the pot liner and drain the beans in a colander. Rinse until the water is clear.
