This Slow Cooker Brisket is a perfect blend of tender meat and rich flavor. With simple prep and delicious BBQ sauce, it’s ideal for a cozy dinner or meal prep!

- 4 pounds beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 1 large onion sliced
- 1½ cups bbq sauce
- ½ cup beef broth
- parsley for garnish (optional)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- ½ tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Whisk together BBQ sauce and beef broth in a medium bowl and set aside.
- Combine all dry rub ingredients in a small bowl.
- Pat the brisket dry with paper towels, then massage the dry rub all over it.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, and sear the brisket on all sides until browned (about 3-4 minutes per side).
- Place the brisket in the slow cooker and surround it with sliced onions.
- Pour the BBQ sauce and broth mixture over the brisket.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours. For a smaller 2 pound brisket, cook for 6-8 hours on LOW.
- Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and slice or shred it. Return the meat to the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Trim excess fat from the brisket for better texture.
Adjust cooking time based on brisket size for optimal tenderness.
For added flavor, let the brisket marinate for a few hours before cooking.
