Description

This Spinach Artichoke Pizza is a delightful blend of flavors, featuring creamy mozzarella, tender artichokes, and fresh spinach. Perfect for a quick dinner or a comforting meal, it’s simple to prepare and sure to impress any pizza lover.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ball best pizza dough (or food processor dough or thin crust dough)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for brushing
  • 3 cups spinach
  • 1/2 cup chopped artichokes
  • 3/4 cup mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons pecorino romano or parmesan cheese
  • 1 pinch salt
  • semolina flour or cornmeal, for dusting the pizza peel

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pizza dough according to the Best Pizza Dough recipe, which takes about 15 minutes to make and 45 minutes to rest.
  2. Preheat the oven to 500°F with a pizza stone inside or prepare your pizza oven.
  3. Mince the garlic and heat the olive oil in a small skillet. Add the garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add spinach to the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until wilted. Stir in the chopped artichokes for 1 additional minute, then remove from heat.
  5. Dust a pizza peel with cornmeal or semolina flour. Stretch the dough into a circle and place it onto the pizza peel.
  6. Brush the dough with a thin layer of olive oil. Evenly spread mozzarella cheese on top, followed by the spinach artichoke mixture. Finish with Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese and a pinch of salt.
  7. Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone. Bake until the cheese and crust are browned, about 5 to 7 minutes in the oven (or 1 minute in a pizza oven). Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra crispy crust, make sure your pizza stone is well preheated.
Feel free to substitute fresh spinach with frozen spinach—just make sure to drain excess water.
