Description

This Taco Sauce stands out with its delightful blend of spices and simple preparation. Made with tomato sauce, chili powder, and vinegar, it’s perfect for spicing up any dish, whether it’s a quick dinner or a healthy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup water or more for thinner sauce
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar (can use white vinegar)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (use hot or smoked paprika)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Heat until boiling, then lower the heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes to enhance flavors.
  3. Taste and make adjustments as needed.
  4. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator. The flavor improves after resting for a day.

Notes

For a thinner sauce, add more water as desired.
Letting the sauce rest will deepen its flavor.
